If You Leave by Courtney Cole

Y'all, I am so, so excited to be typing this message!  It's surreal and amazing to watch someone you love so dearly as she realizes her dreams and takes the world by storm.  And that's exactly how I feel right now.  I'm here  to announce the much-anticipated release of my bestie and crit partner, Courtney Cole's new book, IF YOU LEAVE.  It's number 2 in the Beautifully Broken series and I hope y'all go right out and get addicted to these stories.  Book 1 is called If You Stay and it is AH-MAZING!  If you haven't read it, start there.  Then, I assure you, you'll be begging to read the next one:)

Here are the details:

26-year old Gabriel Vincent is a badass hero. Or he used to be, anyway. As an ex-Army Ranger, Gabe never thought he needed anyone. But after one horrible night in Afghanistan scars him in a way that he can't get past, he needs someone who can help him heal...even if he doesn't realize it.

25-year old Madison Hill doesn't need anybody...or so she thinks. She grew up watching her parents' messed-up abusive relationship and she knows there's no way in hell that she's ever letting that happen to her.

They don't know it in the beginning, but Gabriel and Madison will soon develop a weakness: Each other.

But Gabriel's got a secret, a hidden monster that he's afraid Maddy could never overcome... And Maddy's got issues that she's afraid Gabe will never understand. They quickly realize that they need each other to be whole, but at the same time they know that they've got demons to fight.

And the problem with demons is that they never die quietly.

Sounds delish, right? Well, it is.  And here is where you can get your Kindle copy or your Nook copy. You can thank me later:)

Monday Madness Bad Boys Giveaway

I think the Monday Madness part speaks for itself, don't you?  LOL  I figure maybe I can do a little something to make it less mad and more...crazy-sexy-awesome.  And what better way than with my favorite Davenport twins:)

For today's tasty treat, in honor of Up to Me re-release through Berkley tomorrow AND with Everything for Us on deck next with a September 3rd release, I'm going to give away a signed copy of all THREE Bad Boys books.  I don't have the final copies of Everything for Us yet, so it'll be the galley copy, but there are very few of those floating around so the winner will have something pretty rare.  YAY for rare!

The contest will run through next Monday (8-12) at midnight. I'll post the results here on my blog Tuesday, as well as notify the winner via email.  You must be 18 or older to win and it's open internationally.  The Rafflecopter is on my sidebar, but there are basically four fabulous ways to enter.

1.  Tweet the giveaway, with the picture attachment:

Down to You and On Dublin Street Signed PB Giveaway

So, as many of you know, I attended several awesome events the weekend of June 28-30, one of which was called Meet the Passionistas.  I won't go into too much detail. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.  Just head on over to the USA Today Happy Ever After blog post and you can read all about the trip and the hardships we faced.  *snickers*  But what's more is that I got 2 SIGNED On Dublin Street paperbacks from Samantha Young and she got two of my Down to Yous and we are doing a giveaway.  Here on my blog, you can enter via the Rafflecopter on my sidebar----->

You can either follow me on Twitter, like my FB author page or tweet the tweet I set up in Rafflecopter.  Or you can do all three!  Up to you.  You can also enter on Sam's blog, too.  The contest will run through Wednesday, July 17th at midnight and I'll post the winners here by noon on Thursday.  So what are you waiting for?  Go enter!  Wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

**THE TWO WINNERS WERE SELECTED VIA RANDOM.ORG AND ARE:  BOBBYE HOPE BOOTH AND HEATHER REED.  CONGRATULATIONS!!  I've sent e-mails to both winners. If I haven't heard back from them to collect their prizes within 48 hours, alternate winner(s) will be selected**

(unabridged)

It’s a Hard Life!

There are times when being a writer is the hardest job in the world!  Well, at least it can feel like it.  Writer’s block, rewrites, plot holes, lost threads—any combination of these can feel like the largest of stumbling blocks.  And then, of course, there’s the occasional hand cramp that can arise from our vigorous signing.  Like here.  Look at us, hard at work.  *snicker snicker*

This was Samantha Young (left), New York Times bestselling author of On Dublin Street, and me (right- the only other person in the picture- LOL) at the first annual “Meet the Passionistas” signing at the Barnes and Noble-Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee.  It was a grueling day, filled with tears of pain and hardship.

See how miserable we look?  *more snickering*

At one point, I found myself telling Sam that if I didn’t get some coffee, I might not be able to survive.  For some reason, I get the impression she didn’t believe me.

But then came the surprise that Janet Wallace, founder and creator of this lovely event, had warned us about.
Holy.  Moly.

Turns out “it” was a he.  And oh what a he HE was!  I stared.  A lot.  For quite a few uncomfortable minutes.  Well, uncomfortable for him.  Strangely, it didn’t bother me one bit.
His shirt was buttoned when he arrived.  I know this because, much to my dismay, he walked right in and sat down beside Sam.  Dang it!  Why did I have to pick the first chair???

See?  Shirt buttoned. I’m not sure what miracle of God happened that made that thing come unsnapped, but I won’t question it. I’ll simply be thankful and move on.
The “surprise” was none other than Collin Patrick.  Cover model.  Hunky guy.  Great sport.
I’m sure you can imagine the begging that ensued. I tried and tried to get Sam to switch seats with me, but I’m not that lucky.  Fate had already dealt me the cruel, cruel hand of being last in the row.  *sigh*  What’s a girl to do?
Well, this girl decided to take matters into her own hands.
Literally.

As you can see, he tolerated my petting very well.  And yes, in case you’re wondering, that skin is rock hard and soft as a baby’s butt.
*drifts off*
*eyes glaze over in blessed memory*
Oh. Sorry.  Where was I?
That’s right.  Barnes and Noble.   A public place.  Ahem.  So, before I could get too carried away sampling the goods, Sam was instructed to come over and save the day, which she did with much grace and beauty, as always.

She managed to rein me in enough that I agreed to share with the others.  For a minute anyway.  But I
wasn’t giving up my spot next to the abs. I mean, next to Collin.

Eventually, my place was usurped.  *sigh*  Like all good things, my Collin time had to come to an end.

What can I say about this day?  Well, I met some of the most amazing readers and authors on the planet, I got to touch a hot model’s abs and I spent two hours sitting beside one of the nicest, most genuine people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Thank you, Sam, for tolerating my crazy nature with such admirable aplomb.  Thank you to my husband for knowing you’re the only man for me (but letting me touch the abs anyway).  Thank you, Janet, for including me with such incredible talent.  Thank you, Collin, for wearing a shirt that snaps.  And thank you, Barnes and Noble, for being made of awesome.  It was truly a magnificent day.  And I was happy as a clam:)

Everything for Us, Galley style

Let's get ready to... galley?

Okay, so this mysterious box of goodies from Berkley shows up at my door.  Let me just stop right here and say that I love to get mysterious boxes of goodies from them.  It almost always ends in jubilation around my house.  Anyway, this cardboard square contained several galley copies of Everything for Us.

*beeeeeeeeep*

We interrupt this message to...

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Okay, back to the point of this blog post.  So, now I've got these few galley copies that are burning a hole in my foyer floor (well, now my office closet floor, but I digress) and I'm dying to give a few away.  All you have to do is tweet me a pic of your sightings of Down to You out in the wild (ie, the stores) and use the hashtag #WildCash and you will automatically be entered to win a brand spanking new, SIGNED galley copy of Everything for Us, due out September 2nd.  The winner will be drawn via random.org at noon on Wednesday, July 10th.

Not a bad deal, right?  All you have to do is cruise by the books section of your store or by the romance section of your local book retailer and snap a quick pic.  Easy peasy.  What you don't understand is how something so simple can make me so deliriously happy.  I love seeing my books on the shelves.  It's like watching your baby take his or her first steps. Okay, that might be a bit of a stretch, but it's pretty dang close!  Every time I pub something, it's like giving birth. Minus the need for an epidural or copious amounts of vodka.

Okay, maybe there is occasionally copious amounts of vodka involved, but still, I digress.

So, as you're out and about, keep your phone close so you can get the pic and be entered to win book three of The Bad Boys series.  Don't forget the hashtag!!!  #WildCash

Happy hunting, kittens!!!
